Would wikiHow be counted as an online encyclopedia?

WikiHow, like many other sites, including wikipedia, is written by users, and as such can have good or bad material. There is nothing wrong with citing it though. Citing does two things. It gives the original writer credit, and it covers your proverbial rear-end. If the information is bogus, you didn’t pretend it was yours. Another thing to be aware of is that if you use a URL address to refer to the material you quote, that page may change by the time anyone looks it up to confirm your reference. For that reason I don’t recommend using those types of sites. You should be dating your citations, but wiki pages can change daily. I make it a practice not to use them. Edit: Go to this website and follow the instructions on the right side of the page. You’ll probably want the MLA style. http://www.citationmachine.net/index.
