Would we hope to fill both the Children & Youth Ministry Director and the Administrative Pastor positions immediately?
Yes, in light of the following: In essence, the Children & Youth position is not a new one. It’s already authorized by the congregation and is currently being fulfilled by Brian Falls, our Director of Christian Education (DCE) intern. But Brian will complete his internship at the end of June. He would be eligible at that point for a Call—to NBLC and potentially to other churches as well. Brian’s name would almost certainly be on the Call committee’s short list. Pastor Joe’s need for relief is immediate. It also seems evident that God is giving us opportunities for continuing growth in our ministry, assuming we have the staff to scaffold it. The staffing team recommended this approach and the VVLT unanimously agrees with it.
