If you are currently single, better maintain your status at least to the middle of your academic terms. Agree with answerers above, you may need space to allow you to socialize with new friends as well as to expand your social horizon and adjust with new environment. The existence of of a bf may limit this. Once you are comfortable with college environment, having close friends and maybe having your own group, then you are ready to be taken, that is, if the time comes. The advantage of this is you have a chance to choose somebody who is more suitable i.e. share the same interest, can motivate and help you in your studies and can mix with your friends. Pls remember though don’t ever forget your friends and your study once you have one, else you’ll be isolated (like some of my friends). You need to know how to balance your time between friends, bf and study. Your bf of course need to undertand this and if he doesn’t, dump him.
