Would u name greatest soundtrack composers?
Although this type of music is not classical, I will list some of the composers I feel have been the ‘greats’ of film-music scores. Give way? You know me better than that by now! In fairness, I do concede (although I failed to do so on this occasion) that some film music can sometimes be considered ‘classical’. You have already mentioned ‘Alexander Nevsky’ and Prokofiev’s score for ‘Ivan the Terrible’ is no less deserving of similar praise. Both of these scores were re-worked into concert works, as was Vaughan Williams’ score for ‘Scott of the Antarctic’ and film scores
