Would the wide mouth Mason Jar make a nice holiday gift?

I can a lot and have many wide mouth mason jars around. However, I wouldn’t give them as holiday gifts unless they were filled with something yummy. I’ve been making really good chutneys this year and may actually give some as gifts this Christmas. That being said, getting empty mason jars for Christmas would be like getting a vacuum cleaner. They both say, “Merry Christmas honey, now do some housework.” Canning food is a lot of work. I remember how chilly the atmosphere was the year my mom got a vacuum cleaner for Christmas and I wouldn’t recommend it.
