Yes. We would have done the same to them…. and have done worse. Google the fire bobing of Dresden where we dropped incendiary bombs. The fire was so intense that the oxygen was literally sucked from the lungs miles away! Survivors have claimed that people hung onto street lamps and went “horizontal” before actually being sucked into the firestorm. Like a tornado. It had nothing to do with “White or Yellow”. Enemies have no color.

Yes, but they weren’t ready on time, and it was very much evident Germany had lost the war by the spring of 1945. Japan on the other hand was gearing up to resist an invasion to the end, and given the ferocity with which they defended Iwo Jima and Okinawa, it was evident that the invasion would be a long and horribly expensive (in both money and casualties) fight. Using the A bombs actually caused less damage than a full invasion would have.

It would absolutely have been used against Germany.I can even tell you the first target:Dresden. That is why this city remained unbombed until February 1945.It was off the target list because the effects of atomic bombing would be better illustrated if used on an undamaged city. When it became obvious the war in Europe would be over before the atomic bombs were ready,Dresden was bombed by the British and Americans in a most brutal manner.Four Japanese cities were off the target list for the same reasons as Dresden. Two of them,Hiroshima and Nagasaki, became the victims of atomic war.During WW2 most Americans thought Germans and Japanese were the most evil people in the world. The Americans would have had no remorse or moral misgivings about using atomic bombs on Germany any more than on Japan. The fact that Germans were white like most Americans would not have been a factor in the decision. There was no racism in using the bombs on Japan rather than Germany. It was just a matter of who was sti

At the time, we were wiping out entire sections of German and Japenese cities on a daily basis. There wasn’t any discrimination there. We killed hundreds of thousands whether we sent 1,000 planes with 500 pound bombs or one plane with one a-bomb, they were just as dead.

the main reason we dropped it on Japan was that a ground force invasion was going to inflict heavy casualties and be near impossible due to logisitics….dropping the bomb was not only a more “life” effective preserve for our Military, but it also struck a little fear into the axis powers. We could carry out a ground attack in Germany……dropping nukes was not as imperative. I do believe, if necessary, we would have dropped them on Germany. Its hard to say if we would have been more remorseful….we were and are pretty remorseful to this day towards Japan…..
