Less than significant impact. If the project is successful, traffic could increase slightly along Vista del Mar due to surfers visiting the site or driving by to check wave conditions. It is not possible to accurately forecast the number of surfers who may use the break; the use will be dependent on variables such as surf and weather conditions. The reef project is unlikely to result in a noticeable increase in traffic congestion, compared to the current 35,000 vehicle trips per day along the roadway. During the construction phase, a total of approximately 500 truck trips will be required to transport sand to the dump scow staging area in the Los Angeles-Long Beach harbors. Truck traffic is already heavy in the ports, and the additional truck trips will not significantly alter existing traffic or regional transportation patterns. b).
