Would the Pill stabilise my hormones, or will it just muck them up even more?
You do not mention what the cause of your amenorrhoea (or absent periods) was but I presume that you were suffering from secondary amenorrhoea, where your periods had stopped for some reason, as opposed to primary amenorrhoea, which means that they had never started. The fact that you are moody and spotty indicates that your hormones are up-and-running again. However, five years is a long time to be without a natural menstrual cycle and most specialists would feel that some sort of hormone replacement therapy, either in the form of the contraceptive pill or its equivalent, would be a good idea. When you should go back on to the Pill depends on how soon you want to start a family. If you want to conceive fairly soon, it may be better to leave your natural cycle to settle down, but if a family is not on the cards at present, then I see no harm in restarting the Pill.
