Would the non traditional machining processes be difficult to preform on various non metallic or rubber?
Machining of such materials is difficult due to the “soft”, “brittle”, or unstable structure of these materials. However, it is possible to do so using precise equipment, but usually leads to secondary processing (ie. microfinishing or polishing) to remove surface defects to improve surface strength. Forming these materials in liquid form (high temperatures for rubber and plastics/water with ceramics) will result in the most robust product.
