The agent who holds both the Life-Only and Accident and Health Agent licenses (full life license) or only the Accident and Health Agent license will be authorized to sell long-term care insurance. However, an agent that only holds a Life-Only Agent license is not authorized to sell long-term care insurance. Note: The Life-Only and Accident and Health Agent (full life license) or only the Accident and Health Agent must complete the long-term care training requirements stated in Section 10234.93 (a)(4)(A) of the California Insurance Code (CIC). Specifically, any Life-Only and Accident and Health Agent (full life license) or the Accident and Health Agent must complete eight hours of long-term care training in each of the first four 12-month periods beginning from the date the license was issued and, thereafter, complete eight hours of long-term care training each renewal period.
