Would the general public take a famous black athlete as a philosopher?
Sure… like any and all black celebrities… youre famous not for the quality of your work but because you are black We are ethically forced to accept you, under the unequal opportunity act. Or is it morally blackmailed, Im not sure. Im hoping for another white philosopher, to be honest. You know damn well, since there are zillions to begin with… that if one makes it to the top, he must be good. A black philosopher will stand out by default, like Tiger Woods, not because he is skilled but because he is the only black man in his field. Simply put, what makes you stand out above the rest should NOT be your race. If thats all that sets you apart then your just another ethnic token of our supposed equality.
