Would the departments at Wansbeck, North Tyneside and Hexham still be called A&E’s?
Although they are often referred to as A&E’s, the departments are not currently called Accident and Emergency Departments, they are named emergency care centres. We have not decided what the departments should be called – but their names would need to change to describe the service they will provide.
