Would stores like BestBuy or EB Games have old games in stock sealed?

They usually send them back to Nintendo or whoever the manufacturer may be. Most stores like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, EB, etc. don’t actually buy games to put on their shelf. The distributor gives them games, and they pay for what they sell. What they don’t sell they have to return to whoever sent it, and they either destroy them or send them elsewhere. Since it only costs a buck or two to print a game (most of the price goes to development), they can afford to give them 50 copies to put on the shelf and only sell 20 of them.
