Would South Padre Island be fun during the summer?
I would say it would be a fun vacation, but only for a few days. It also depends on your age. If you are of drinking age it would be a fun place during the summer. They have interestingly unique bars and restaurants. To answer the other part of your question, No it is not a ghost town, for say, in the summer. Though the island is largely Mexican populated during the summer. But if you are okay with that then you are set :). The beaches are a great destination in South Padre, and they also have a wonderful water park open. Over all south padre is a great destination, if you don’t have a problem being a minority. (I am not meaning to be racist i was just presenting the facts of the population. If you were offended, I am deeply sorry.
