Would small to medium sized businesses get value from Lotus Workplace?
Most definitely. Lotus has focused on ease of use for small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) since its inception. In fact, more than half our business at Lotus comes from SMBs. As we announced earlier this year, Lotus will soon deliver Express versions of our Domino based technology to dramatically change the landscape for robust, proven, world-class messaging and collaboration. As with all of IBM’s key technologies, these Express offerings will eventually run on Linux and support our supported Linux browser clients. There will be a special Lotus Workplace package that will make Workplace even more appealing to SMBs as well. And if you look at some of the key pieces of Workplace – take Workplace Messaging for example, even with our current version of that product, the per-user cost can dive to as low as $1 per user per month.
