Wigan make the trip to Odsal on Friday knowing that a continuation of our 100% record would see the side match the starts made by the club back in 1998 and 2000, the two seasons when Wigan last finished the regular season in 1st place. I think last year’s failure to make the top 8 justified me on that argument but I think they have recruited quite well in the off season. Terry Newton, Glenn Morrison, Ben Jeffries, David Solomona, Semi Tadulala and Paul Deacon all left in the winter, and all of them were over the age of 30. They gone done an all Australian route in finding replacements but significantly I think they have got a much better balance between youth and exp
