Would Restoring Factory Image Fix Registry Problems?

0

I got a virus on my computer and it completely screwed up my registry to the point where I can’t open any of my programs, files, or even documents. I cannot open system restore either. I am considering restoring factory image (I know I would lose all data, I really don’t have anything of value on my computer. All of the data I want to keep is saved onto a flash drive or CD. Most of it was useless junk I have accumulated over the past year.) I was wondering if restoring the factory image for a dell insperon with windows vista would fix registry problems caused by a virus.
