A – RAC is the named insured along with its members and those RAC-affiliated clubs who have registered with us. Claims must be made on a blank claim form that is updated by AXA from time to time. Since claims should not be frequent, there is no point in stocking the form at RAC as we would not want to have a claim on an old form rejected by the insurer as it is not the current form. The form would have to be completed partly by the claimant and partly by RAC. It would be prudent to consult Luc Leblanc and our Honorary Legal Counsel, as the wording of a claim is critical to whether it is awarded, and caution is required at this stage. The insurance adjuster might interview both the claimant and RAC before deciding to accept or reject a claim, and how much to award.
