Would Microsoft repair / replace my Xbox 360?
As long as your friend hasn’t broken the seal (it is a security tab inside the x box), Microsoft will replace it. We had this with my son’s numerous Xbox’s. It happened with his first one and we took it back to the shop where we purchased it and it was replaced. Sadly, the same thing happened with his new one, which we had exchanged again and then with a 3rd one! We were so fed up of taking it back to the shop all the time hubby had a look inside to see if he could fix it. He couldn’t (surprise surprise) so instead of the embarrassment of going back to the shop for the 4th time he called Microsoft. They informed him that they would have changed it with pleasure if he had NOT have broken the seal inside, which sadly he had. Lets just hope your friend left that in tact. We had to buy a new one!
