Would lung cancer show up on an MRI Scan which was being carried out on pancreas?

Hi It depends on what type of scan your GP has requested us to do. If there is a request for only a pancreatic study, we would do a ‘scout’ view which includes your abdomen, then would focus on your pancreas and do the high-intensity scan. It is only if we are asked to do a scan of your chest and abdomen would we be able to see if lung cancer is present. If, however, we do a scan and see metastatic deposits (bits of cancer) in any bodily region it would be followed up urgently; usually by conducting another scan (CT is more accessible than MRI at the minute) which includes the chest, abdomen and pelvic regions. Hope this information helps.
