Would it be haram to use antibacterial hand gels which are alcohol based?
My dear sister in Islam Allah has commanded us not to consume alcoholic substances because these are harmful to our mind, heart and liver. In the long run they deteriorate all our internal organs and kill us by causing high blood pressure, diabetics, and failure of heart and liver. Mullahs will keep expanding the scope of prohibition as much as they can imagine because that show them more knowledgeable. Using a antibacterial cream with very low percentage of alcohol to kill germs on your skin and make it clean is not haram. Normally when you rub such a cream, it kills germs on skin and during the rubbing process alcohol evaporates in air. I say using antibacterial gel is not haram. We must always remember that intent of Allah for prohibiting us from using alcoholic substances is to protect our health. Antibacterial gel is also made to protect our skin from germs and to keep skin clean. You do not violate law of Allah in using such a product. I say use it and don’t let any one tell you
