Would integrated WiFi (802.11b/g/n) have better connection to the internet than a Wireless USB Adapter?

I’m assuming we are talking about an adapter integrated into a laptop. If so the integrated unit will have multiple antennas (usually built into the laptop lid) 802.11g usually has diversity twin antennas and 802.11n uses three to take advantage of MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) signal processing. In a USB adapter everything has to fit in the USB unit, so unless it has external aerials it’s unlikely to give better reception than an integrated adapter. Regards, TH.
