Would I need a Personal Licence to build a bar type area in my home?
Don’t need a license but health and safety laws do apply, for every 100 people you need 4 floor and door staff and at least one with medic certs. You’ll need at least two fire escapes that can handle 30 people every 10 seconds and must be double opening in size. Your staff must be fully trained in fire prevention and hazard containment. Your bar area floor should be non slip and don’t forget an outside smoking area for smoking patrons. You should have at least 2 sand buckets per 20 patrons. Music and late entertainment you will need an entertainment license. To be safe you’d best knock your house down and build a nightclub with all the proper licenses in place.
