Would I be descended from Judah or frm Manassa?
Dear Gramps, When I received my Patriarchal Blessing it stated that I was from the tribe of Manassa. Recently, I have traced my genealogy on my mother’s side, to a Jewish line that came to Mexico from Spain in the fifteen hundreds. They have remained in pretty much the same place all this time– my mother being born there and then moving to the U.S. when she married. I’m confused. I thought that I may have descended from Father Lehi or somewhere along those lines. Do you have an explanation for me as to where my roots may be. Also, I would like to have my DNA tested at BYU. I understand they do studies in these areas. If so, can you give me guidance as to how to get in touch with them. Thanks you so much for any help you may be able to give me.
