You have no chance of getting a visa at this stage because the offence was so serious and so recent but if you stay completely out of trouble for the next 5 years or so and by your actions show that you are a genuinely reformed character, you may have a chance in the future. Our character requirements say that you will be deemed to have a ‘substantial criminal record’ because your sentence was for 2 years, but decision makers still have some discretionary powers and it isn’t unheard of for them to allow people to come here who have serious criminal records, but have since proven that they’re genuinely reformed characters who are unlikely to offend again. Unfortunately for your time frame, you’re not going to be able to prove that you’ve reformed until you can show a clean record for a number of years. I think you’re probably wasting your time thinking about it now, but stay completely out of trouble; contribute positively to society; make sure you meet all of our other immigration requ
