No. An exhaust manifold will NOT make it hard to start. More than likely, it’s air getting into the fuel injectors, or fuel pump, or fuel lines. Air will compress, fuel does not. When your injector pump tries to pump fuel, it’s just squishing air, instead of pumping fuel.
