Would enlisting in the Marines be a bad choice?
Haha the uniforms are nice 🙂 Well, I think you should also consider other branches. Like the guy Jossiah said, lots of guys, mostly from highschool, want to join the Marines. They ARE and will always be a great branch but I don’t know, maybe it doesn’t turn out what you want it to be. Everyone in my highschool is joining the Marines and it’s so annoying, whenever I mention I’m joining the Army, they call me weak trash, even though the challenge I am going for (Army Ranger) is much tougher. Maybe men in the younger age group think the Marines are cool and they all follow the crowd when later on they regret it. Still, the Marines are good for some. Just do research before you choose, my cousin join the Army as a mechanic and regreted it, he now wishes he joined the navy. Whatever you choose, you have my respect.
I remember a bunch of guys in high school wanted to be Marines. One even said that why would you throw you life away and be a soldier, when you could do something with it and be a Marine. He said this within earshot of our teacher, a Vietnam vet and former army ranger. I think you should REALLY think about this before you make such a choice. Most of the guys I know who went for Marines dropped out. I respect the Marines, I understand their necessity and what they bring to the armed forces. Doesn’t mean I’d want to be one.
