Would Earth be dark if we were traveling away from it at the speed of light?
Again, there are multiple answers to this question. One is to say that it is implausible to think about what would happen if we, being massive, were travelling at the speed of light as to do would require an infinite amount of energy. This just isn’t realistic. Given this, the closest thing we could do would be travel away from Earth at almost the speed of light. If we did, then Earth would still appear to be light as light emitted or reflected from it would still travel towards us at c. Having said this, we could consider how things look from the perspective of a photon zooming away from Earth at the speed of light. Would the earth seem dark to it? Arguably, the answer is no as the photon is travelling at the same speed as other photons from Earth and so would be surrounded by light instead of being in darkness.
