Would domesticated animals advance faster in evolution than wild animals?

They would change faster than most wild species, but since this would be due to selective breeding, rather than natural selection, this would not necessarily be to their advantage, so could not be considered to be evolution proper. If humans were to interfere, by selectively breeding only the strongest and most disease resistant individuals, then perhaps they would advance more quickly, however, given humanitys’ track record for developing weapons and massive cock ups, I hope this never happens.
