No, I think Djokovics game has already surpassed Roddicks. Yes, they have similarities in their game, they both have explosive forehands, they love the baseline and rarely venture to the net, and both have strong first serves. However, Djokovic has a more rounded game, in that he does not rely solely on his serve to win games. After Roddick teamed up with Connors there was hope that the rest of his game would become more developed, in that he would start hitting his backhand again instead of just slicing the ball, that he would get more at net points, and that his return of serve would improve. While working with Connors did improve his game, Roddick still relies too heavily on free service points to win matches, which is definitely not enough to beat Federer or Nadal. Also when comparing the two, one must remember that Roddick was supposed to be the savior of American mens tennis. With Sampras gone and Agassi getting old, Roddick was supposed to fill the void.
