Would collecting pink label Barbie dolls be considered as a collection?
Some of the most collectable barbies are pink label. If you collect it, it is therefor a collection! I think what you want to know is whether or not pink label barbies accumulate value, and the answer is yes. I list my barbies by label, and occassionally update a table to show the lowest and highest values they are selling for on ebay – Currently Pink Hope Barbie, which was released in 2007 is selling for as little as $50.00 and as much as $80.00. I bought it for $24.99 in 2007, so it has already increased in value. Same goes for Robert Best On Location – South Beach Barbie – I got it in 2008 for $19.99. It is now selling on ebay for $70-$80. Dolls do not retain their collector value if you remove the original outfits and put on handmade outfits that you bought off ebay, at this point they become a “one of a kind Barbie”, from there if you do something like cut and style their hair, repaint their face or make special shoes (or all of the above) you have created something unique and one
