Would carrie the book by stephen king appeal to a girl that likes Christopher pike books ?
Yeah, I think ‘Carrie’ might be a good book for the first girl (and I agree with you that seeing the movie first will save you some disappointment, though both the book and the movie are each good in their own ways). I liked both Anne Rice’s vampire books and ‘Salem’s Lot,’ but they present totally different views of vampires. If the second girl also liked ‘Dracula’ (or any other books where the vamps don’t sparkle in the sun–heh) I think she’ll like ‘Salem’s Lot.’ If she prefers her vampires to be more beautiful and elegant, and likes historical aspects of Anne Rice’s books, she *might* also like Chelsea Quinn Yarbro’s Saint Germain series. Unfortunately, some of them are out of print, but she could either get them from a library or buy used copies online.
