Would anyone name their child after a fruit?

0

Well my name is Clementine, not specifically like the fruit as it is a known name – my parents didn’t just name me after an orange! I have had a few strange comments but not that many and it hasn’t particularly bothered me because so many more people have told me that they liked it. Clementines aren’t really that common where I live so some people haven’t even heard of them! – Unlike Apples where that name springs and image of a big green fruit to mind. I think names like Apple and Peaches are really going too far, and the children would have a hard time. I think mine was different in that it’s quite an old fashioned name and tends to get shortened to “Clem”, which you can’t really do with Strawberry – “Hey Strawbs” or whatever is a bit weird. I don’t think I’d name my child after a fruit even if mine wasn’t because It’s not really my style, and personally don’t like the idea of my child having a name which is solely known as a food…
