Would anyone be able to recommend any helpful books, college guides, or articles on transfer admissions?
I have found this site invaluable. There are also other college review sites that are not geared towards transfer students, which can be found via google. A quick search on Amazon brought up the book, Transfer Student Companion, by Thomas Grites. (No, I have not read it). There are probably other books (and parts of other books) that you can find by searching Amazon. The problem is that transfer guides are usually geared to the community college student. A trusted professor involved in academia at your current school can probably evaluate the strength of a department of another school. Another possible resource may be people at your high school- either teachers, who may have gone to a school you wish to attend, or whoever helped you navigate the college scene the first time. Enter your freshman year with an open mind. Earn good grades, get involved, and get to know you professors really well. This way you’ll be set if you decide to transfer or not.
