Is it possible that many of the stars out there are surrouned by huge Dyson spheres that are adding to the mass of the universe and therefore accounting for the large percentage we cannot currently find? Yes. Is it possible that these Dyson spheres are made from some material that transmits most or all of the light that falls on them, rendering them invisible from Earth. Again, yes. Is it probable? No. We can invent any odd explanation we want to explain away the universe’s “missing mass”, but if the explanation necessitates the existence of super-technology that we have no evidence for, then it’s not parsimonious and therefore should be rejected in favor of a theory that doesn’t invoke any unnecessary entities. I hope that helps. Good luck! EDIT: And some would argue, perhaps reasonably, that dark matter also fails the test of parsimony, since its existence was first proposed solely to explain why luminous massive objects don’t move the way they “should”. Perhaps that’s true, but give
