Would an AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Toledo 2.6GHz Bottleneck an 8800GTX?

You will get faster performance out of a highly clocked core 2 but the fx-60 is still capable enough for you to appreciate the 8800gtx. You’ll still get much better performance than any other gpu currently released as well as the future dx10 support so id say you couldn’t really go wrong. You will be told it will be bottlenecked ( and yes it will but not to the point of it being a waste of money or anything outrageous like that…) People’s definition of a bottleneck varies from what I’ve seen ( some people are anal enough to call a minuscule performance improvement with a better cpu a bottleneck ) but none the less you’ll get amazing performance out of that puppy so treat your self and pick it up Just make sure you have a nice ( preferably a fast dvi hdcp widescreen ) LCD , as to take full advantage of the power of that card. Anything less than a 20.1″ 1680×1050 is a complete waste.
