Would agp 8X 128mb card work OK in AGP4X slot?
hi ian yes,when you run a x8 agp card in a agpx4 slot the x8 card will revert back to the x4 bandwidth the only factor you need to be careful off when buying a agp card is the type of slot and not the bandwidth,some agp slots such as the agp universal and the agp 3.0v will not support the newer types of agp card even if they fit the type of slot you have the most common agp version at the moment is the agp 1.5v and this looks like this(http://keben.kbench.com/files/20/1241110… all toher specifications will not be affected when the agp bandwidth reverts to x4 speed,and the speed decrease will hardly be noticable any problems let me know good luck ian !
