No, you can use free Development licenses in your testing, development and staging areas. Adaptavist plugins will automatically run in free license mode when installed on an Atlassian application running a developer license. For more information, please see Free, Evaluation or Developer Licenses.

Customers who have a valid server license may request a developer license for testing purposes on development or staging servers. If multiple instances are required for use in production, additional server licenses will need to be purchased. Any unauthorized use will be considered to be a violation of the End-User License Agreement. KnowledgeTree reserves the right to remedy the violation and pursue legal action. To request a server license, please contact our sales team on sales@knowledgetree.

No, instead your technical contact can simply create a developer license. Developer licenses can be used by existing license holders who wish to deploy non-production installations of our software to assist with development and testing efforts. Developer licenses can also be used for non-production installations of our software deployed on a cold stand-by server. This license is provided free of charge and the maintenance expiration of this license will be synchronised to the maintenance expiration date of your product. The technical contact for the license can generate a developer key by following these steps: • Log in to my.atlassian.com • In the license details pane click “View Developer License”; • Review the Developer License agreement; • Finally click “View” to agree. • A license key will be presented. Copy and paste this key into your development server. You may generate more than one license key if running multiple pre-production, e.g. development, testing, and QA, servers.
