Would a tent footprint make a good camping shelter?
A tent footprint, also known as a ground cloth would make a great shelter. However you would still need another footprint to put down on the ground. Also keep in mind that the footprint will need to be big enough to cover you and whatever you want to put under it after you get it put up. If you really want to pursue your idea look at different ways to set it up. I also recommend you look into tyveck house wrap. It is extremely light very durable and waterproof.
