Would a pistol belt work with 58 pattern webbing?
If you are looking to wear the pistol belt on under the webbing no problem. However if you are hoping to mount the webbing set onto the pistol belt in place of the standard British 58 Pattern belt then it won’t work as the method by which the pouches mount onto the belt is not compatible with the pistol belt. The 58 belt has two rows of small pockets, one top one bottom, on the reverse side and the pouches have metal C rings on them. The ends of the metal C rings fit in the pockets and hold the pouches and yoke etc in the desired location/position. Hope this helps.
