It isn’t just down to the processor, it’s down to the amount of RAM you have and your graphics hardware. These are the bare minimum requirements for FSX: Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista Processor: 1.0 Ghz RAM: Windows XP SP2 – 256MB, Windows Vista – 512MB Hard Drive: 14GB Video Card: 32MB DirectX 9 compatible Other: DX9 hardware compatibility and audio board with speakers and/or headphones Online/Multiplayer Requirements: 56.6 kbps or better for online play That doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s just to get the program working! If you actually want FSX to run smoothly and with good graphical quality you will need a much faster processor (the faster the better), a good amount of RAM (certainly a minimum of 2GB if you’re running Vista), and decent dedicated graphics card (not a low-end graphics card, or some integrated graphics chip built into a motherboard).
