Would a pacemaker regulate heart rate and also bring bp down.?
A pacemaker simply fires to generate a heart beat if your heart rate is too slow. They are generally set at about 60 beats per minute, and if your normal rate falls below that, it will signal a paced beat. With the heart rate at a higher rate, (above 60 BPM) the blood is circulated more readily and your MEAN pressure my be more stable. Some pacemakers also have a defibrillator in them as well. This will shock your heart muscle if you have a rhythm that is not compatible with life.
