It would certainly be a fun first car, but I would suggest not getting an older turbo car. Turbo cars require a lot of extra maintenance, there are more (high wear) parts to wear out. Oil/Water cooled turbos are good for about 100,000 miles before they need replacing or rebuilding. If you are not completely sure you can do the work yourself, expect to pay approx $90/hr in labor to have any work done. New turbos for that car probably range in the $600 – $1200 range. Also, as good of a driver as you may think you are, that is an incredibly powerful RWD car. If you DO get it, remember that the most efficient modifications you can make to the car are not made to the car at all, they are made to the driver: get involved with your local branch of the SCCA and get some performance driving lessons. I would suggest a beater, and a cheaper, less high-profile car, that has as big of an aftermarket, but with cheaper parts. My suggestion would be either an SCCA Spec prepared Miata or a Miata that y
