Would a Mirena IUD help my endometriosis and adenomyosis?

0

I’m 38 years old, overweight and my ObGgyn has basically bullied me into my only option of Mirena to treat my endometriosis and adenomyosis. I don’t plan to become pregnant nor do I want children. I’ve been suffering with various symptoms on a daily basis and these symptons were only lessened while I was on Micronor for about 6 months then the pain returned with a vengence. I would prefer to have a hysterectomy because I am afraid that the severity of the diease would invade my bladder and bowel. I am aware that a hysterectomy may not completely help my symptoms because I have scar tissue and implants in the adominal cavity. I dont see how having a iud placed is going to reduce my pain when the trans vaginal ultra scan was very painful. Do I have any other options or suggestions?
