Would a Intel Pentium4 Processors 550 (3.4ghz) processor work on my motherboard?
hi robbie sorry no..your pentium 4 is one of the new breed of pentium 4,s which use the socket lga775 however the motherboard you have stated is one of the older socket 478 models which wont support the lga775 processors however for £34 which you were going to pay for the 478 motherboard you can get a socket lga775 motherboard that will support your pentium 4 ,,,one such motherboard is the “Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L G41 Socket 775 VGA 8 Channel Audio MATX Motherboard”( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/161966 ) …this will support any pentium 4 cpu (lga775) with a 800mhz fsb and unlike the older socket 478 motherboards this also supports a pci-express x16 bus (slot) so you can use the latest graphic cards in regards to the bus speed it can be quite confusing …most pentium 4,s will show a fsb of 200mhz on the post screen however since these are “quad pumped” this equates to 800mhz ( 4 x 200mhz) also some are double pumped whic
