Would a cover letter be needed with a resume in this case?

Normally, a cover letter should be specifically written for each job you apply to, with the position indicated. But, in this case, you can’t really do that. I have been in this situation. I made a generic cover letter addressed to “Hiring Manager.” In my first paragraph, I wrote, ” I am interested in exploring employment opportunities with ABC Company. Please consider me for all career positions suited to my educational and work experience. Attached you will find my resume.” In the next paragraph, I went into the normal cover letter things. I attached the cover letter and resume to each other with a paper clip and made a bunch of these as packets to hand out. GOOD LUCK!
