Would a city-wide computer repair business be profitable?
Not sure how we’re supposed to run your numbers for you without even knowing what city you are in or your current client base… If you have the cash to invest, yeah, you could make a killing with the right location, marketing and service/products. The key is to make sure that you have enough start-up capital to ride out the initial ups and downs as you establish yourself. If you rely on short-term credit for payroll and inventory, you are likely going to run into problems since that’s still very shaky ground. edit – the other answers are right that you need to compete with things like Geek Squad, but that really shouldn’t be too hard considering what Geek Squad charges… For instance, any problem that I would have to call Geek Squad for would cost me more than it would for me to just build a new computer.
