HIE is able to charge for information provided in response to a request and will have a policy to do so, but this has to be in accordance with the code of practice associated with Section 60 of the Act. This code sets the minimum threshold at which charging can start, the maximum hourly rate that can be charged for administration costs and the percentage of costs that can be passed on to the applicant once the charging threshold has been met.
