“NO, I don’t think a CAS/CAO would make a good patrol candidate. Guardian breeds tend to be to INDEPENDENT to make proper “Partner” for patrol. The dog need to turn to its owner for direction. Control of the dogs is crucial. Therefore, high levels of obedience MUST be obtainable. Also, to do stressful work like suspect apprehension, narcotics tracking, etc., require prey and fight drive.
