OLUKOREDE YISHAU takes a look at the development Three days ago, Nigerians had cause to be, once again, disappointed by the conduct of the members of the House of Representatives. That day, the Dimeji Bankole-led House decided to suspend 11 of its members. The affected members have, of recent, painted the leadership of the House in bad light. They petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against Bankole and other principal officers. The anti-Bankole group known as “Progressive Minded Legislators” accused Bankole of misappropriating N9 billion capital vote of the House. Their ultimate aim was to force Bankole to quit. Piqued by the activities of the Hon. Dino Melaye-led lawmakers, the Bankole loyalists, who are in the majority, decided to deal with them. They took a decision to reward them with suspension.
